Organisational Psychology researchers are currently focusing on examining the effectiveness of mindfulness and resilience in improving the overall well-being of employees in workplace settings. The current study was carried out to ascertain whether Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is effective in improving psychological capital (PsyCap) and reducing burnout among IT workers. The sample initially consisted of 400 IT Employees, to whom-Compound Psychological Capital Scale (Lorenz et al., 2016) and Burnout Assessment Tool-12 (Schaufeli, De Witte, & Desart, 2020) were administered. From the initial sample, 80 employees were selected based on the low scores in PsyCap and high scores in burnout, and were randomly allotted to either an experimental group or a control group. The participants in the training group attended a training of group sessions of MBSR consisting of 150 minutes, while members of the control group did not receive any. After three weeks, the scales were readministered to the members of both groups. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank test was utilized to test the hypotheses. When the pre-test and post-test scores were compared, the employees allotted to the MBSR group had a significant improvement in Psychological Capital and burnout, while such an improvement was absent in the control group members. The MBSR training program was helpful in enhancing Psychological Capital and reducing burn out of the IT Employees.
