The subjective well-being (SWB) of teenagers is greatly influenced by parenting approaches. This study examines the association between the SWB of teenagers enrolled in Lucknow city’s CBSE and UP Board schools and four parenting philosophies: democratic, autocratic, permissive, and uninvolved. Using random sampling, a sample of 200 students-100 from each board-was chosen. ANOVA was used to examine the data in a descriptive quantitative study design. The findings showed that the most prevalent parenting philosophies were autocratic and democratic. The SWB results of CBSE pupils were substantially higher than those of their UP-Board peers (p < 0.05). The educational setting was found to have a substantial impact on SWB, while parenting methods by themselves did not show statistically significant differences (p > 0.05). Higher levels of well-being seemed to be fostered by CBSE schools. The results highlight how parental styles and educational systems work together to influence teenage SWB, providing important information for legislators, educators, and mental health specialists to create focused solutions.
