Hypnosis has gained recognition for its effectiveness in pain management, including headaches and migraines. This case study reports on the successful application of the hypnotic technique, “Reframing,” to manage migraine pain in a single patient over a total of 8 sessions. Following a comprehensive physical examination and clinical interview, the patient underwent hypnotic intervention, with pain intensity assessed before and after the session using a subjective self-rating scale (0 to 10). Initially, the patient rated their migraine at 8 out of 10, but after the Reframing session, the pain reduced to 0, providing immediate relief. This case highlights the potential of Reframing as an effective approach to migraine management. While the results were promising, further research involving larger populations is needed to determine the broader applicability of this technique. Additionally, the role of hypnosis in managing different types of pain should be explored to better understand its therapeutic value.
