This study examines the impact of socio-demographic factors on COVID-19 infection rates, vaccination coverage, and post-COVID outcomes, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations such as elderly women, marginalized groups, and those requiring daily support. The findings reveal that widowed individuals, certain religious and caste groups, illiterate individuals, and those needing daily support were at higher risk of infection. The study highlights disparities in infection rates, likely influenced by factors such as limited access to healthcare, occupational exposure, and health literacy. Vaccination coverage was high, with the majority of respondents receiving at least two doses; however, booster dose uptake was lower, particularly among older age groups. The elderly, especially those in the 70-80 age group, demonstrated increased vulnerability to hospitalization and post-COVID effects. The study also identified barriers to vaccination in the 80+ age group, including mobility challenges, misinformation, and health concerns. These findings emphasize the need for targeted public health interventions to reduce socio-demographic disparities, improve healthcare accessibility, and enhance vaccination efforts, particularly for marginalized and elderly populations. Future research should focus on understanding the behavioural and economic factors that influence COVID-19 susceptibility and healthcare access, ensuring equitable healthcare responses during pandemics, and improving long-term healthcare monitoring for vulnerable groups.
