Forgiveness, spiritual well-being, and self-compassion are interrelated constructs that are very important to emotional resilience and positive mental health. The mediating effect of forgiveness on spiritual well-being and self-compassion was explored in 158 emerging adults. It was also confirmed that all three variables were positively correlated with each other and that forgiveness had a partial mediation effect on the relationship between spiritual well-being and self-compassion. These results support the role of forgiveness in increasing self-compassion through spiritual health, and provide implications for promoting mental well-being in emerging adults.
