This study aimed to explore mental well-being and loneliness among middle-aged individuals, comparing those who own pets with those who do not. A total of two hundred participants were involved, consisting of a hundred pet owners and a hundred non-pet owners. Data analysis was conducted using a t-test. The findings revealed a statistically significant difference in mental well-being between the two groups, as pet owners demonstrated higher levels of well-being than non-pet owners. Further, a significant difference was observed in levels of loneliness, with non-pet owners reporting greater loneliness compared to those who owned pets.
