The present study aimed to explore the factors influencing psychological hardiness among adolescents from urban and rural areas in the Ludhiana district of Punjab. The sample included 360 adolescents aged 16 to 18 years, randomly selected from Government Senior Secondary Schools in the district. Demographic details were gathered using a personal information sheet, while the HARDY scale developed by Bartone (1989) was employed to measure psychological hardiness. The findings revealed significant gender differences, with the majority of participants demonstrating a moderate level of psychological hardiness. Notably, boys were found to significantly outnumber girls at medium and high levels across all dimensions of psychological hardiness-commitment, challenge, control-as well as overall psychological hardiness.
