This study aimed to investigate the role of parental engagement in positive parenting interventions as a protective factor influencing the well-being of school-age children. A sample of 245 parents and their 10 to 12-year-old children was carefully selected to ensure research integrity. Socio-demographic information, including participation in positive parenting interventions, was collected. Using the Multidimensional Assessment of Parenting Scales (MAPS) and the Stirling Children’s Well-being Scale (SCWBS), the study assessed parenting practices and children’s well-being, respectively. Positive parenting practices were identified as a robust predictor of children’s well-being, highlighting their crucial role in promoting positive outcomes. Moreover, access to parenting interventions was found to contribute significantly to children’s well-being, emphasizing the importance of making such interventions readily available. These findings underscore the need for accessible and available parenting interventions to empower parents in fostering their children’s well-being. Tailoring parenting programs to maximize their impact can lead to more positive outcomes for school-age children, addressing the pressing issue of child mental health and well-being effectively.
