The present study was undertaken to assess the need of Indian pregnant women for general knowledge about pregnancy such as getting pregnant, signs and symptoms of pregnancy, pregnancy tests, danger signs, discomforts and common myths about pregnancy. Sample of the study comprised of 50 mothers of 0 to 2 years old children from Hisar city of Haryana state. Three hospitals in Hisar city-Vimal Jain Hospital, Aadhar Hospital, and Urban Health Center (Azad Nagar) were selected where these ladies were approached. For data collection, a self-structured schedule was prepared. Results regarding need assessment of the pregnant women depicted that the majority of the women felt a strong need for information on various aspects of pregnancy such as general knowledge about pregnancy; nutritional knowledge; physical and psychological health care knowledge; entertainment during pregnancy; clothing and other pregnancy products; delivery and postpartum care knowledge. Hence, the study requires further research to fulfill the needs of pregnant women.
