Videogame addiction, pornography craving, sexual attitudes on parental perceptions among adults

The world of video gaming, pornography, and attitudes of people towards sex have expanded and subdivided into many categories. The present study investigates the association between parental perceptions, videogame addiction, pornography craving, and sexual attitudes among adults. There is a relationship between mother and father warmth, involvement, and autonomy support and videogame addiction, pornography craving, and sexual attitudes. A convenience sample of 123 adults (M=58, F=65), aged from 18 to 30 years living with both their parental figures, responded to an online questionnaire. The scales for assessment were Game Addiction Inventory for Adults (Wong & Hodgins, 2013); Pornography Craving Questionnaire (Kraus & Rosenberg, 2014); Brief Sexual Attitudes Scale (Hendrick, Hendrick, & Reich, 2006); and Perceptions of Parents Scales-College Student Scale (Robbins, 1997). To verify the hypothesis of the study, the statistical analysis of Descriptive Statistics and Correlational Analysis were carried out. A significant negative relationship was found between pornography craving, video game addiction, and permissiveness sexual attitudes with different parental perceptions among adults.
